Christopher M. Chambers

Executive Chairman

  • Christopher started his professional career in investment banking and was Head of European Equity Capital Markets at Credit Suisse before joining Man Investments as CEO and main board member of Man Group, the global hedge fund.
  • He is currently a Senior Advisor to Lone Star Europe, member of the supervisory boards of Berenberg Bank, Swiss Prime Site in Switzerland and Chairman of Leonteq.
  • Christopher is also a member of the Board of Directors of Oxford Sciences Innovation and Chairman of Pendragon PLC.

Rainer-Marc Frey

Vice Chairman

  • Rainer began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1987 working in equity, fixed income and swap markets.
  • He was appointed Director of Trading at Salomon Brothers in Zurich, Frankfurt and London.
  • Rainer founded one of Europe's first hedge fund groups, RMF Investment Group in 1992.
  • RMF Investment Group was sold to Man Investments in 2002 where Rainer remained in various Senior Executive roles until 2005.
  • He founded Horizon21 AG, a private Investment Office in 2005 where he remains Chairman of the Board of Directors.
  • Founder and Board Member of the Frey Charitable Foundation Switzerland.
  • Rainer was a member of the Board of Directors of UBS AG from October 2008 to May 2014.
  • He was a member of the Board of Directors of DKSH, a Swiss listed company from 2008 to 2018.

Dr Dieter Spaelti

  • Dieter began his professional career as a credit officer with the Bank of New York.
  • He was appointed CFO of Tyrolit (Swarovski Group) based in Innsbruck and Zurich in 1991.
  • Dieter then joined McKinsey & Company, ultimately as a Partner, and was involved in numerous projects with industrial, financial and technology firms in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia between 1993 and 2001.
  • in 2002, Dieter was appointed Partner at Rapperswil-Jona based Spectrum Value Management Ltd. The company administers the industrial and private investments of the family of Thomas Schmidheiny. He was appointed CEO in 2006.
  • Dieter sits on the Board of Directors for LafargeHolcim and IHAG Holding AG.
  • He was a member of the Board of Rieter, a Swiss listed public company from 2001-2016 as well as Edelweiss Financial Services, an Indian listed public company from 2004 to 2007.

Dr Johannes Fritz

  • Johannes began his professional career as assistant to the CEO of Bertelsmann and in 1984 joined KPMG, covering financial institutions and industrial companies.
  • Johannes has been head of the Quandt/Klatten family office since 2000 after joining as Managing Director in 1990.
  • Johannes is also Managing Director of Seedamm-Vermoegensverwaltungs GmbH, and since 2006 Managing Director of SKion GmbH, an industrial investments vehicle for Susanne Klatten.
  • He is also Chairman of the Supervisory board of Solarwatt GmbH and sits on the board of both Drees & Sommer AG and Gemalto N.V.

Dr Reto Suter

Non-Executive Director

  • Reto began his career in 2000 as co-founder and CFO of Go4Equity, a global marketplace for venture capital funding transactions.
  • In 2002, he became a Partner in Tendo Corporate Finance AG, a boutique advisory firm, providing transaction advice to mid-sized companies.
  • In 2004, Reto joined Horizon21, initially as a Partner in the Private Equity Business, followed by the position of Group COO, CEO and ultimately CIO.
  • Reto joined Lonrho in 2013, holding the positions of COO and then CIO before moving to a Non-Executive Director position on resigning from executive responsibilities at Lonrho in 2017.
  • Reto is currently the CFO of Siegfried, a pharmaceutical manufacturing business.

Bruno Sidler

Group COO

  • Bruno completed his commercial education at the KV Zurich Business School specialising in freight forwarding and participated in various management courses at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
  • He has held various management positions with the Panalpina Group in Africa, Asia and Switzerland between 1980 and 2016, being appointed CEO of the Panalpina Group in 1998.
  • He then spent 6 years with CEVA Logistics, Zurich/Amsterdam, as a member of the Executive Board responsible for the EMEA and Northern European Business from 2007 until 2009 and Group COO from 2010 until 2012.
  • Prior to joining Lonrho, Bruno spent four years with DKSH, Asia's leading Market Expansion Services provider based in Zurich and Bangkok.
  • In May 2017, Bruno was appointed to the newly created function of Executive Chairman for Lonrho Logistics and Lonrho MES Ltd. before being appointed Group COO in November 2017.
  • He previously sat on the Board of Directors of the Neptune Orient Line Group (NOL), Singapore and LUXAIR, the national Airline of Luxembourg. Bruno currently sits on the board of Bertschi Logistics and Global Airlift Solutions.

Nick Taylor

Chief Investment Officer

  • Nick is Lonrho’s Chief Investment Officer, responsible for investment origination, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring.
  • He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Corporate Finance team, with a specialism for private equity backed transactions where he completed over 10 successful transactions.
  • Nick is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BA Management Studies from Nottingham University.
  • Since joining Lonrho as an investment professional in 2013, Nick has been involved in all of Lonrho’s M&A transactions,most notably including the successful merger of multiple seafood trading companies to create Atlantis Foods and the investment into the Big Bottling Company.

Ashleigh Woolf

London

Chief Legal Officer

  • Ashleigh is a dual-qualified Solicitor in the United Kingdom (Solicitors Regulation Authority) and South Africa (Attorney of the High Court).
  • She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Advanced Business Management III) as well as a Bachelor of Law Degree from Wits University.
  • Ashleigh originally qualified as a lawyer at ENSafrica. Her experience is largely focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, general corporate law and compliance in Europe and most Sub-Saharan African territories.
  • She held the position of Legal Counsel at PruProtect (a subsidiary of Prudential and later, Discovery) and a senior legal position as Associate Director at Salamanca, a financially regulated international private equity and risk management group.
  • Ashleigh was appointed as Lonrho Group’s Chief Legal Officer and member of the Executive Management Committee in December 2017, having previously held the positions of Head of Legal and Compliance (2016) and Group Legal Counsel (2015).

Sandrika Chetty

Chief Financial Officer

  • Sandrika is a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce with Accounting from Wits University, as well as a Bachelor (Honours) in Accounting from the University of Natal.
  • She began her corporate career, having completed her articles at Deloitte as an Audit Manager.
  • Sandrika has held senior Finance positions with listed South African companies such as Imperial Holdings, Barloworld and Netcare Hospitals.
  • Prior to joining Lonrho in March 2018, Sandrika was the Financial Director of Cambridge Food which is part of Massmart, a top ranked company in the JSE retail sector.
